Daniel is the Transformation Principal for the DACH region at Valiantys. With 15+ years in consulting – previously at PA Consulting (London), Accenture, and Infosys Consulting (both in Munich) – he has successfully delivered organization-wide transformation programs across banking, insurance, pharmaceuticals, retail, automotive, and entertainment. Known for his hands-on, outcome-focused approach, Daniel turns strategy into measurable and lasting results. He holds an MBA from the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, for which he also leads the alumni sailing team. The team competes in several international regattas each year and most recently took first prize at the IE Regatta in Cascais (Portugal) in September this year.
What does it take to win a sailing regatta – and how do those same principles apply to leadership in a business context and to the delivery of successful business transformations? In this talk, Daniel connects three passions – sailing, leadership, and successful transformations – by identifying common themes. He will outline the key success factors for a sailing regatta and show how these same factors translate to the business world. As a team sport, sailing offers essential insights into how to switch a team into high-performance mode and what leaders must put in place for that to happen. Linking race strategy to transformation programs, Daniel explains why lasting success depends on a shared plan, situational awareness, disciplined execution, and the willingness to adjust without losing momentum. He will illustrate each point with real project examples where these factors proved decisive in delivering sustainable transformation results for clients.
